Prep / Runner
Job Summary:
The Prep/Floater/Runner at Dahlia's Song is a dedicated support role crucial for maintaining operational efficiency, especially during high-volume periods. This position ensures that all specialized stations (barista, juice, and food) are continuously supplied with ingredients, that front-of-house areas are clean and well-stocked, and that finished items are promptly delivered to customers. The primary objective is to eliminate bottlenecks, allowing specialized staff to focus on production.
Hiring for early shifts (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM) to assist with juice and smoothie prep, pastries, food service, and general shop organization.
Key Responsibilities:

Continuous preparation & restocking to ensure a continuous flow of all pre-prepped ingredients (e.g., chopped fruits, washed greens, concentrates) to the appropriate stations.

Monitor and replenish supplies for both back-of-house and front-of-house areas (e.g., cups, lids, straws, napkins, sugar, stirrers) to ensure uninterrupted inventory management.

Promptly and accurately run finished drinks, food, and pastries from the prep areas to customers (order running).

Continuously clear and wipe down tables, maintain a clean and organized customer area, and assist with general store cleaning duties.

Assist Baristas and Food Preparers with simple, non-specialized tasks to maintain workflow and overall operational rhythm.

Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including general cleaning, stocking, and disposing of trash.
Qualifications:

Ability to work independently and as part of a high-volume team.

High energy and ability to sustain speed and efficiency for extended periods.

A keen eye for organization and detail.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry supplies (up to 25 pounds).

Availability to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Prior experience in a fast-paced food service environment is an asset.
