Special Event Instructor
Job Summary:
We are launching "Twilight Blooms," a new program offering premium adult workshops (e.g., Seasonal Wreath Making) and creative children's parties (e.g., Little Sprout Explorers). We are seeking a dynamic, engaging, and highly skilled Specialist Event Instructor to lead these unique workshops.
This role requires a blend of creative expertise, strong group management skills, and a passion for teaching others.
Looking for talented individuals to lead workshops in flowers, art, crochet, knitting, terrariums, and dried floral arrangements for both kids and adults, mostly on the weekend from 4 pm to 8:30 pm, depending on the date.
Core Responsibilities
-
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery (Adults): Lead the premium Seasonal Wreath Workshops and other adult craft events. This involves teaching advanced techniques (wiring, structural balance, color theory) and delivering an upscale, engaging experience.
-
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery (Children): Facilitate the hands-on children's party concepts ("Little Sprout Explorers," "Fairy Garden," "Botanical Stationery") in a fun, safe, and age-appropriate manner for ages 5–9.
-
Customer Experience: Act as the face of the events program, warmly welcoming participants, managing the group energy, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
-
Material Oversight: Work closely with the Florist Manager and Event Assistant to ensure the correct volume and quality of fresh and dried materials are pre-kitted and ready before the event starts.
-
Quality Control: Ensure all finished projects—from a child's painted pot to an adult's wreath—meet the high standards set by Dahlia's Song.
Required Qualifications
-
Proven Floristry or Advanced Craft Experience: Demonstrated ability to create and teach complex floral arrangements, wreath structures, or detailed craft projects. A portfolio or examples of past work are required.
-
Strong Public Speaking & Presentation Skills: Must be comfortable and energetic leading groups of up to 16 people (adults or children) for 2-hour sessions.
-
Availability: Must be consistently available for evening shifts, primarily Thursday through Sunday.
-
Patience & Versatility: Ability to easily transition teaching styles between sophisticated adult classes and playful children's parties.
Why Join Our Team?
-
Competitive Pay: Earn a premium hourly wage that reflects your expertise and specialized skills.
-
Creative Freedom: Work with high-quality, fresh floral materials sourced directly from our own inventory.
-
Impact: Play a central role in launching an exciting new revenue stream for a beloved local business.
To Apply: Please submit your resume, a brief cover letter highlighting your experience teaching craft or floristry, and 2-3 photos of workshops you have run or finished projects you have created to [Email Address or Application Link].
